This year the Advent promises to be a special experience in the Kőszeg-hegyalja region. A big Advent wreath and holiday decorative lighting invokes Christmas atmosphere in the renovated square, where Christmas fairs, performances, food and drinks, Christmas music and meeting with friends will be held.
Special programmes await you at the Jurisics Square each week in the Medieval Town Advent: the cultural programmes will be opened by the Kaláka band on 1 December, 7-8 December welcome the Advent of Nature Park Masters, the 14-15 December is about Mulled Wine Advent, and probably on 21 December, the Kőszeg Ice Christmas will open up in the favourite winter place of the locals, the covered ice rink. The Advent candle lighting will be held each Sunday at 5:30 pm, the Jurisics Castle hosts the Christmas Workshop each Saturday where you can prepare for the decorations and gifts of Christmas with expert help.
The holiday season can be celebrated with an intimate musical experience in Kőszeg, this time with the Christmas concert of the 160-year-old Concordia-Friendship Choir Association, the Kőszeg Town Concert Brass Band, and the Kőszegfalva German Nationality Choir’s Adventsklang. The concert of the Kőszeg Strings, Hajnalcsillag-Christmas and Christmas song learning also take place in the Jurisics Square, together with open-air performances and an ARTrakció concert. You can enjoy a Cirákulum concert on 21 December.
